  Last Sunday - the SMoG golf group broke tradition and held our weekly match on Sunday and not Saturday.   We normally play at Matoa each Saturday morning however due to the Matoa monthly medal we needed to look elsewhere.  Jakarta Royale was suggested however we knew that there was no way 30 expats would get a start on Saturday morning so Sunday it was.  

I was feeling more relaxed then normal and thought that today was the day.  I was going to carve up this course and post a round that I could proudly share with my mates.    I stood on tee box 1 of the east course and smacked my drive straight into the 2 foot long grass on the right hand side.  

TIP 1 - you wont find your ball if it goes in this shit!!  Take a provisional..

My game did not get any better from here, I found new ways to shank the ball, couldn't sink a putt and was completely devastated by my performance - or lack of..  I can't blame the course, the caddy or the weather.  It was me.  I had been Royally whipped by this awesome golf course. 

The developers are clearly lovers of golf and have thought about every detail.  The fairways are immaculate, the greens are some of the best I have ever seen in Jakarta and the caddies would all be models if they were born in any other country..

The  course is the newest course in Jakarta and whilst it does not have the same feeling as the more established courses it certainly has the most potential.   In three or four years after the trees have grown and course settles in, this will no doubt be the premier golf location in Jakarta.    I can't wait to see the clubhouse when its finished.
