Dear fellow golfers,

Usually golf courses around Jakarta have a polite staffs and employees. However I'm very unhappy with the treatment I got from Cengkareng Golf Club recently.

Just when I about to start playing, I couldn't find my golf bag and caddy in the starter area. The rest of my friends golf bag and caddies were all there except mine. So I went to see the starter staff asking about my golf bag and caddy. Rather than communicating with the other staffs at the golf course, they just refer me to find my caddy in the caddy area. "Sir you can check your caddy in the caddy area". Caddy area? Where is it? When I finally there, no one was there. Finally I decided to go to the hole where I was supposed to start. The caddy and my golf bag was sitting there at the hole without telling anyone her location. I wasted about 20 minutes just for finding my caddy. No staff helped me for solving this problem.

Second incident was happened during the course of play. I was speaking English all the time to my caddy (because he called me mister even though I'm Indonesian, so I continued to speak English to her). So I politely asked my caddy to take my bottle of water "Can you get my water"? A caddy sitting nearby suddenly said out loud "Dia mah bisanya ngomong "water" doang" or "All he can said in English is WATER". whoa... so this is how Cengkareng Golf Club treats his customers. They don't teach their caddies to respect customers/golfers.

And for most of all, they got a very expensive green fee for a Tuesday. I paid about Rp.425.000,- I went home feeling angry to have wasted my money on this golf course. I hope I don't have to come here again having to pay Rp.425.000,- just to get a rude treatment from the staffs. I just hope other golf clubs have a higher standards than Cengkareng Golf.

I had played at Cengkareng Golf few rounds for the last 5 months...So far I didn't experience such incident. Sorry to know that you have to go thru such situation...
But if it's happened to me, I politely get the Club Manager and filed the complaints..

So, I think it's about the attitude...but if they do this more often, they will lose more customers...

To be honest, I was so angry when finished playing at Cengkareng that all I cared was to get home. I really forgot to file a complain.

BTW, there are so many Golf courses in Jakarta that have more polite and nice staffs. And I would rather spend my money and time right there.
I can tell you more than 10 courses in Jakarta have a GREAT service. Why come to just one course, especially after being treated badly ?

Besides that there are so much traffic going to the Airport lately. I would rather go to the BSD or Bogor area.

Hello Pak Robert and fellow golfers,

I think Pak Ahman comment was spot on. If incidents which ruin your golf round happen because of treatment from golf course staff, we should tell directly to the GM or GO manager. This is for the course improvement also.

As for Cengkareng GC,I personally prefer not to play there. The green fee is a bit stiff, also the traffic coming in and out is very unpredictable.
Prefer to play at courses along Jagorawi toll road, or Gading Raya which is closer to the outer ring road.

A few of my coworkers went to Cengkareng today, Monday(23/11/2009).

After finished playing, they went to the clubhouse to eat lunch.

When they were eating and drinking, suddenly the waiter sent them the bill.

My coworkers did not even finished eating and asked for the bill yet.


I said to my co-worker, no suprise !!! I got their rude treatment too.....
