About The Course

Pertamina Balikpapan Golf Course was built in the year 1974 and opened by Mr. Ibnu Sutowo, Pertamina Managing Director in the year 1978. Pertamina Golf Course (18 holes) was the first and the only golf course opened in East Kalimantan, as replacement of the BPM Company Golf Course (9holes), which was located at BPM employees complex at Gn. Dubbs.

PBGC was designed by pertamina employees (one of them: Mr. Ir. Antonius). The course is set in the midst of the beautiful hilly area. Splendid views can be enjoyed during the play. The basic looking lay out of the golf course can be quite deceiving, even for the low handicappers. The seemingly easy course has potential hazardous bunkers around the green. Powerful and accurate shots are required for the 7th hole (par 4, with hcp index 1) with the dogleg to the left and the forest on the both sides.

The golfer can reach the course easily because it is located only 10 minutes by car to downtown and 3-5 minutes to the Sepinggan airport.

Until present time we do not provide a golfcart but it is in our plan for the nearest future.
