OBNOXIOUS DRIVING RANGE PRO

From my experience a while ago, Driving Range PROS at Senayan and Pluit range are very arrogant and obnoxious.

If they see someone who is just beginning to play golf, they will approach you and criticize your swing (even if they are not being hired or even asked).
And these pros will show off their "average" golf swing to you . They think someone will hire them by doing that... I don't think so!

That's very arrogant and obnoxious conduct.... especially because beginning golfer are very shy about their swing. They will need time to find the right golf swing.

I don't think I want to hire any pro who does that....

IF YOU WANNA BE HIRED, START WINNING AT INDONESIAN PRO TOURNAMENTS. GIVING UNWANTED ADVICE IS VERY ANNOYING.

Re: OBNOXIOUS DRIVING RANGE PRO
These driving range pros (instructor) got nothing better to do than harassing golfers at the driving range. It's obvious than they are not being hired most of the time.

They're trying to get hired. Tell them that you already have an instructor, or perhaps take them up on their offer. Obviously they thought they saw something that you're doing wrong. I took 10 lessons with cameras, and what was shown on the screen was vastly different than what I felt / thought I was doing.

Whilst I agree that giving unsolicited advice is most annoying, but I think we should understand that a teaching professional is not a tour professional and it's unfair to expect them (teaching professionals) to win on tour. David Leadbetter or Butch Harmon and the like, I'm sure never won anything on the US PGA Tour.
A certified teaching professional is a golf swing instructor, he is not a playing tour professional.

Re: OBNOXIOUS DRIVING RANGE PRO
Most Driving Range pros I know play in the PGI Tournament. For example, Sanusi. He's a driving range pro at ME Golf pluit and he also play in the PGI Tournaments.

Yes but not all of them play in Pro Tournament. Just work as a Teaching Pro.

I wonder if most of the Driving Range Pro in Jakarta have a some kind of Formal Golf Training. Most of them are ex-caddies.

Different from David Leadbetter and Butch Harmon who actually went to Golf School.

Re: OBNOXIOUS DRIVING RANGE PRO
I agree to a certain extent. I am qualified through the PGTAA and the USGTF, and what I have noticed about Indonesian Pros and Coaches are they try to impart their swing onto students and their methods are also outdated. If a student is having problems with their swing, correcting the full swing then and there can do more harm then good. Appropriate drills and correcting the actual fault is required.

What they need to understand is, anatomically, we are all different so they need to work with what the student has and improve it. Making an attempt to overhaul ones swing can take anything from 6-12months to remedy.

The golf swing is an imperfect one so what they need to realize is if the pros make mistakes then the amateur golfer is allowed to as well.

This is what I teach and try to impart on students as well as concentrating on point of impact.

With most amateurs, the major problem is ball position and grip. If we look at the top 100 in the world, no swing is the same.

Look at Jim Furyk. Need I say more?
